Heidegger's Bible Handbook: Job: Place among the Poetic Books

1. Among the Poetic Books, Job obtains the first place.

We proceed to the Psalms or Poetic Books. Among them אִיּוֹב/Job, or the narration of the admirable patience of Job[1] and its happy outcome, undoubtedly obtains the first place on account of its antiquity, whether of history, or writing, or both.

[1] See James 5:11.
