Heidegger's Bible Handbook: Zephaniah: Chapter Summary

The author of the Prophecy is צְפַנְיָה/Zephaniah.  An account of his name.  A connected series of his ancestors, 1.  He prophesied in the days of Josiah, a history of whose times is compared with the argument of this Prophecy, 2.  The parts of the Prophecy are two:  I.  A Prophecy concerning the sins of the Jewish people, and the judgments threatening both them and other nations (Zephaniah 1:1-3:8).  II.  Promises made to the Church concerning the Kingdom of Christ (Zephaniah 3:9-20).  A Synoptic Table of the book, and its Interpreters, Ancient, Reformed, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, 3.

Dr. Steven Dilday holds a BA in Religion and Philosophy from Campbell University, a Master of Arts in Religion from Westminster Theological Seminary (Philadelphia), and both a Master of Divinity and a  Ph.D. in Puritan History and Literature from Whitefield Theological Seminary.  He is also the translator of Matthew Poole's Synopsis of Biblical Interpreters and Bernardinus De Moor’s Didactico-Elenctic Theology.
